Ravens are larger and have heavier bills than a crow. While in flight, you can tell the difference..ravens have a diamond shaped tail, and crows have a squared off tail. They also can be found in similar habitats..although crows are more urban, while ravens prefer wilder habitats.

They are different species in the same genus, corvus. Worldwide there are dozens of different crows/ravens. Australia has six. Whether it is called a crow or a raven depends on who named it.

Where there are only two corvids, the larger species is called the raven while the smaller is a crow but worldwide this is arbitrary. Australia's Torresian Crow is larger than the Australian Raven or the Little Raven. The only way you can be sure is either geography (if it's in Tasmania it's a Forest Raven) or by inspecting the hackle feathers if you can get that close.

A Raven is bigger and I think it's actually a little darker than a crow...other than that, I'm not sure.

Crows account for an entire family of birds.all ravens are crows. While these two blackbirds have many similarities, there are differences in their appearance, behavior, and habitat.

Different species but related - like the difference between a parrot and a budgie. Ravens are a LOT bigger, but superficially look very similar
