The actual quotation is:
"A man can work from sun to sun (dawn to dusk) but a woman's work is never done."

Typically I think this refers to the fact that once men stopped working for the day, they stopped working! No dishes, no laundry, no tending children, etc. Women on the other hand always have something that needs done. Even if all the laundry has been done, it's not really because you have the clothes everyone wore that day. The housework is never done, because it all has to be done the next day. Meals to plan, prepare, clean up after. Beds to be made, children to tend to, etc., etc., etc,.

It depends how the question is interpreted. It's false in the sense that when a woman comes home from work, her work is done for the day, and when she goes to sleep she's not working anymore. However, it's true in the sense that there is always more to do tomorrow.

The same is accurate about men.

That saying came from an era of when most women were stay at home moms. I'm one and I can definitely say that's a true statement. I didn't feel like this when I was a single working person. But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

True.

There is always one more thing that needs to be attended to. Or just as we sit down, one of the kids needs something. And after a long hard day at the office, a husband needs to have attention too.

For most women it is a way of life. But the younger wives of today are having a harder time coping with marriage and children.

True, lets face it you no sooner finish clearing up from one meal than you have to start on the next, and children don't come with an on/off switch so that's a 24/7 job!

If it’s true is it because she has too much to do OR is she just very slow at doing what she has to do?

On the other hand if it’s false then does she not have enough to do, hence finishing early OR is she the Super Women that can cope with all that is put before her.

Definitely true. Especially if she is a Mom. A job could be from 8am to 5pm. But a child could wake up at 3am and the Mom has to take care of the situation...

So very very true. Wonder why we are always exhausted? Why when our "men" want some, we're too tired? For all you ladies out there just starting a relationship, start training them now that you are not a maid, chef, clothes cleaner, errand runner, etc etc, otherwise you will never rest.

True

In reality "no one's" work is ever done. There is always some work to be done by all, whether they do it is another matter. Obviously if everyone has work to do, that would include women, so it is never done...or True.
