I was watching sell this house and they used liquid fabric softener in warm water to soak a boarder and it peeled off nicely. Maybe try that?

Go to your home center, pick up a scoring tool, an empty spray bottle, a wide scraper and a bottle of concentrated wall paper remover. Score the paper with the tool and mix the paper remover according to the directions, hot water water works better. The stuff is cheap and works well. Spray the stuff on and let it soak in for a few minutes like the directions say. Patience is important. You may find that it strips just the top layer, spray again and you will be able to remove the lower layer. Steamers are more trouble and can do damage.

Did you score the paper first? That helps a lot, I've found. I use a tool called a "Paper Tiger scoring tool" - see the link below. It makes tiny holes in the paper without damaging the wall underneath, unless you really lean into it. Score the wall well - there should be tracks or holes no more than 3-4 inches apart.

Next use a plant misting sprayer, filled with hot water and a splash of fabric softener. Mist the section of wall until the water starts dripping down. You may want a towel at the bottom to protect the trim. Wet several strips of paper, wait a few minutes, and try to peel it off. It it doesn't come off easily, mist everything again, and go one more strip of paper ahead as well.

The trick is to give the water a way to get in under the paper, and to give it time to work on the glue. Misting ahead of where you're working lets that happen while you're removing paper somewhere else.

You can rent a steamer for not too much money. It is worth it to rent one. It does take a long time with just hot water. You can spray the water on and wait, spray again and wait, again, again. It will eventually just fall off the wall. I used a garden sprayer and went around the whole room. Let it soak in, spray again. The steamer is quicker. You can rent a better one for the money than what you might be able to buy.

Depends on how much wallpaper you are planning to take down, and the condition (for example, if it's painted over, it will take longer. I didn't think you could steam off painted wallpaper, but some website implied that you could).

If it's going to take you more than a few days, you have to compare the cost (it may end up being the same, depending on which model you consider buying). If you do decide to rent, be sure you do all the prepwork beforehand so that the steamer doesn't sit there unused.

There is a product called Diff. It comes in concentrate or a blue gel.

Get the blue gel. No scoring will be required.

Apply the blue gel to the wallpaper. After a few minutes, the glue will come loose.

Then take your piece of removed wallpaper, and use the side you Diffed, and stick it on another section of wallpaper. The gel will again soak through and remove another section of wallpaper.

Less fuss, and a lot easier.

Scoring the wallpaper will make the wallpaper fall apart (some sticks to the wall, when others come off) when used with Diff, which becomes a pain to clean up.

be careful using a steamer. if the walls are plaster you'll be ok. if the walls are drywall, be careful. with enough steam you can weaken the drywall.

I have hung and took down a lot of paper, and in my experience there is no easy way.............
the best thing in my opinion to do is to get a sprayer and fill it up with hot water and spray one of the 4 walls.......wait 5 minutes spray it a gain.....wait 5 minutes spray it again.....wait 5 minutes and spray it again........wait another 5 minutes and then take a wide putty knife and start scraping..........get off Way you can then spray it again and wait 5 minutes............................
best way I know...................
