Hey there!

I am going on birth control with the intention of skipping periods. I wanted to know if you use a certain pill that has worked well for skipping periods without breakthrough bleeding and also has limited side effects (my primary concern being weight gain and mood swings).

Also, if you used a certain pill that worked well for skipping your period the first month and how you went about it.

Thanks and Cheers,

Stephanie

The very first birth control pill I ever took was Seasonale, the one where you're supposed to not have a period except once every 3 months... well all was well until about a month and a half went by, then I started bleeding and did not stop for 2 weeks. I didn't stay on it long enough to figure out why this was, because it was so annoying I decided I would rather just be on normal BC and have one period a month for a couple days.
Hope this helps..

Im on Noramin 28 day. And i skip them all the time, mainly due to the extreme period pains i get. I tend to only have a period once a pack (being once every 4 months) Its a good idea to have your period atlease twice a year just to 'clear and clean' things out. Noramin is good for doing this. Its a low hormone one, and its the same strength throughout the month (meaning you can skip it, dont take a pill thats in varying strengths cos ur contraception protection decreases) I didnt get any break through bleeding, and barely any side effects. However everyone is different. I skipped it right from the first month, so i know it works good. Ive been on it for 3 years n never had a problem with it.
hope this helps!

You should then take the type of pill that doesn't require you to skip the fourth week (aka sugar) pills.

Lybrel and I believe it is Seasonale/Seasonique are pills that do this.
