I don't blame you. I haven't made the leap yet, either, but I'm considering getting the Wii.
Okami got very high ratings, but it suffered due to poor sales.
Tales of the Abyss is like a lesser Final Fantasy, but still a very good game in its own right.
The Xenosaga series is good, but it has a TON of FMVs and talking, and a buttload of religious context.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence is very awesome, and it also has the Classic Metal Gears and online play.

XIII-Cool first person shooter with weird cell shaded graphics
Resident Evil 4: One of the best looking and playing games on the system.
Star Wars: Battlefront (1 or 2)- Fun third person star wars action.
Manhunt2- Was only released on the PS2, Wii, and PSP. Very violent, very fun, kinda short.

PLAY ANY OF THE RESIDENT EVIL GAMES...
They have multiple ones out for the PS2 and they are worth every penny...
ummm...
FFX is a good game.., not really underrated.. but still good game...
I would also say sly cooper is a fun enough game
I do not know.. that any of the good games are underrated

HA!!! I just got my little ones the PS2. They're 10 and 8 and I couldn't see shelling out the cash for the Wii....let me know what games people suggest too!!!!

God, there are so many(damn fanboys).
Draken: The Ancients Gates is awesome. I has has a hot chick and a dragon.
Kengo. It a game based on Bushido and sword fighting.
They are kind of old but the seriously rock.
