I need to use Powerpoint for my work in law enforcement, for grand jury, etc. How do I add arrows, circles, etc. to highlight areas in photos? Is there any kind of guide that is helpful?

Hi,

The Mac version of PowerPoint has a set of tools on the Picture toolbar that lets you do fancy things with pictures.

Both Mac and Windows have a drawing toolbar. (View > toolbars > Drawing). That toolbar has lots of different shapes you can put onto slides. Each thing you add to a slide is a layer. You can move things up and down using right-click > arrange.

Double click to format a shape. You can control the Fill property of any shape. If you choose None for the Fill but still have a line color then your shape will be something you will find helpful.

For precise control, some shapes and lines let you edit points (right click on the shape and choose edit points).
