If so, how long after getting the shot should I wait before he can?

May I assume you got the shot during your menstrual cycle? This is when you're supposed to get it, to ensure that ovulation hasn't occurred and that the chemicals have been in your system prior to your next probable ovulation.

At any rate, yes you can have unprotected sex without withdrawal (which incidentally is only about 80% effective -- in other words, not very). This is the whole idea behind chemical contraception...to not have to worry about pregnancy because ovulation has been inhibited.

However, if you're that paranoid, perhaps a backup method would be a good idea...or better yet, just don't have sex.

I am also on the depo... When I was younger I was given the depo and was on it for a year... then i did it after my son was born, and now once again after my daughter was born... In some cases it's effective in the first 24 hours of getting, but normally you use another form of birth control (ie: condoms) for the first two weeks... the depo does normally remove your periods though...

After getting your first shot, my doctor told me to use condoms for two weeks.

After two weeks he CAN ejaculate without pulling out BUT NO contraceptive is 100% effective!

YOU CAN still get pregnant on the depo shot. It is ONLY 99% effective.

Yes he can because it's birth control. I think you have to wait a week before it gets totally in your system though.
