Dont' waste your time with careerbuilder or monster websites since many of the jobs are lost leaders simply to provide employers with a database so that they can adjust employee salaries during their annual employee evaluations.

Instead, check out a local engineering-based employment agencies which specializes in hi-tech career opportunities. Even do a "headhunter" search for such specialized employment agencies.

And of course, check out local major meetropolitan newspaper classified ads since many government agencies, civil service, educational institutions are required by law to advertise hi-tech job offerings.

Good luck!

Careerbuilder and monster are good sites for finding jobs. Don't listen to that other answer.

Here are other sites you can try:

http://www.hotjobs.com
http://www.dice.com
http://www.craigslist.com

You can search in the Chicago area for each of these sites.

Good luck!

See if there are any technical recruiting companies that will put your resume on file, usually they don't charge applicants.
