Congrats on the puppy! I have had 2 Beagles, and I can say that during longer car rides, something to CHEW ON has been key. Rawhides, squeakies, Kong toys, Chilly bones (durables chew bone that you can freeze to help a teething puppy), something that the baby won't choke on. If all else fails, wear the puppy out before you get in the car and on each stop, run with them and throw a ball/wrestle for a few minutes. Good luck and have fun! I have that same policy, which makes for some awkward moments when I'm taking my mom somewhere.

if i dont put out..can i at least ride in the trunk ??? or maybe as a hood ornament ??if i lay on my back you can use the little guy as a pointer for direction..beats an expensive gps...

Mine has always been "Have sexual relations with me or seek an alternate form of transportation such as the city bus or a taxi," but yours is much easier to say.

I do, I hate my windows rolled down and if any one does they'll have to exit my car. I also am the only one allowed to touch my radio.
