The Santa Claus tradition comes from Nicholas Claus the Bishop of Ulm in Germany hundreds of years ago. This real person was also mixed as time went by with the ancient psuedo-pagan mythical figure of Father Christmas. Nicholas of Ulm used to pass out gifts to poor kids at Christmas from a horse drawn sleigh. He was cannonized (made a saint)after his death by the Catholic church.
Santa Claus is real because he was already declared a saint. Therefore, if he is a saint, he can perform miracles such as giving gifts to a mass number of good children

First off, I hope that there are not any young kids that are around, looking on these boards. But no Santa Claus is not a real person, he is a fictional character that parents lie to thier kids about where thier presents comes from. I don't know where, when or why, this all started. But all I know that this started. But you see Santa Claus in movies and in malls, and maybe in schools, but is somebody in the custom pretending to be him. And second that would be kind of hard to believe, that one man can visit almost ever child in the World all in a single night. Plus I have to wonder what the post office does with all the letters that they recieved, addressed to Santa Claus, from kids that believe in him. Plus I don't know how, or parents know when it is time to tell thier kids the truth that there is no Santa Claus, and where thier parents come from, well being how do they know that they are old enough for the thruth. And even how the kids will re-act once they find out, but as longer they don't heard it from an older kid at school, that doesn't believe anymore. And if that hapens, I bet that sends a lot of kids home in tears, that they had to find out about it, that way, and who knows how the parents will re-act to that, but also not all the time, the parents are togther, they might be dirvoced, or one of them dies. Sorry to get tragic there, but anything to make this answer longer, and earn some extra points.

Yes Santa Claus is real and lives in the North Pole, and knows if you've been naughty or nice and keeps a little black book for when you've been bad, and a little red book when you have been good.
So you better be good or you won't get any presents, on Christmas day when Santa makes his visits to all the little girls and boys houses down the chimney
.
And always remember to leave Santa Claus a snack and a beer on a corner table.
Gee wonder who drank the beer?
It must have been Santa Claus and all those presents under the Christmas tree ordered out of the Sears Catalogue . Oh the ones I wanted. Magic had taken the last night.

Yes, Santa is real. The spirit of Santa lives on in anyone who believes and follows his example. When you give a gift from the heart, without reservation, and expect nothing in return, you are Santa. Santa is in all the people that follow the first Santa's example of giving.

Do you wonder if the sky is real and how it stays up there, not falling down on us.
How about the wind - how do we know it is the wind that moves the branches and leaves, and messes up our hair.
There are so many things that just are - that we take on faith.
Santa? -
According to sources on the net
"Saint Nicholas of Myra is the primary inspiration for the Christian figure of Santa Claus. He was a 4th century Christian bishop of Myra in Lycia, a province of the Byzantine Anatolia, now in Turkey. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor, in particular presenting the three impoverished daughters of a pious Christian with dowries so that they would not have to become prostitutes. He was very religious from an early age and devoted his life entirely to Christianity. In Europe (more precisely the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Germany) he is still portrayed as a bearded bishop in canonical robes. The relics of St. Nicholas were transported to Bari in southern Italy by some enterprising Italian merchants;[6] a basilica was constructed in 1087 to house them and the area became a pilgrimage site for the devout. Saint Nicholas became claimed as a patron saint of many diverse groups, from archers and children to pawnbrokers and prostitutes[7]. He is also the patron saint of both Amsterdam and Moscow.[8]."
So the answer to your question is yes - - St Nicholas, Kris Kringle - or mum and dad standing in - Santa is real.
The gifts from the early St Nicholas were offered with compassion and love - the gifts we receive are usually offered with love and friendship.
The comercialisim of Christmas tends to destroy the feeling of Christmas and Santa - but I believe that each person who gives anything to others, with love, friendship compassion and understandiing keeps the TRADITION of Santa alive.
Santa was a real person - his tradition is being kept alive - ergo SANTA LIVES.

He's not real. At least not the Santa who lives at the north pole and flies a sleigh with reindeer and has elves make toys..THAT santa isn't real. However, there was once a santa-LIKE person from europe who just gave old toys to the less fortunate kids around christmas time..so if you want to count that one..then i guess. but santa claus is just a christmas story tradition..
**P.S. You will get answers on here from those who still "believe he is real" and those who accepted the truth..of course, it's your right to believe if you want to..nobody can make you NOT believe until you're ready

Your question is as much about the word "real" as it is about Santa Claus.
Is the Mona Lisa less real than a photograph? Is Handel's "Messiah" not real because he made it up? By no means. Works of art are real. Things that people make are real.
Santa Claus is one of the most famous, best-documented, and most multicultural examples of folklore in the world. Of course he is real.

He is actually real but not in the form we know today. The Santa we know today came from when a man dressed in green gave money to some poor family on the 25th of December and it carried on yearly he then became red through coke cocola through advertising.
so yes he is real but obviously doesn't go round on a sleigh with reindeer and doesn't have elves helping him.
