That's the same logic that says women who dress in skimpy clothes are more likey to get raped.
(And I must say I have to catch myself on that logic)

Public nudity: Yes. This is truly a victimless crime. Public urination: No. It is a matter of hygiene Welfare: NO. People living on welfare are parasites. They should work to deserve getting something. Drugs: Yes for pot. The others are cause of severe social ills, and someone else gets the tab. Abortion: No. People have to be responsible when they have sex, and a consequence is pregnancy. Underage sex: Yes. It happens so much that prosecution only wastes money. Incest: Are you kidding me? This is to prevent genetic aberrations! Of course not. Adult films: Yes. I don't see why sex is wrong, but somebody being shot and killed is OK for a child to see. Spit, litter: No. Plese, hygiene again. Stealing: No. Are you stupid? Do you own anything?

Example; On the west coast, there is a nude beach I used to frequent. So I took a bunch of girls with me to get a base tan before summer hit. Mostly, gay men hang out there, we were the only girls on the beach. Then we heard giggles and guys talking. We look up and theres a handful of guys STARING at us. No, they weren't gay, just perverts. Finally we got dressed, and started kicking sand at them and yelling. They left......
So as far as being opposite outcome from studies, who knows but it will take a LONG TIME for people to start acting right around nudity. We have been trained to cover up. It will take some time to get over that training.

Because in America, this isn't really a culture that would handle public nudity well. It has not been a part of our traditions and it would only bring dangers. Other cultures allow kids to have alcohol, but in America it's not that way at ALL! Women get sexually attacked and told they're "asking for it" by wearing revealing clothing. A naked man walking around with an erection can be considered to be harrassing someone. In our culture, there is a lot of christian beliefs about being private about the human body and whether it's "right" or not, that's a big part of what has helped to shape this country's culture and how we live. I don't know what studies you are talking about, but studies are not accurate. Some places might handle public nudity well, but I am certain that the USA would not be such a place. Imagine how some homophobic males would respond to naked gay men around. There'd be problems for nude heterosexual males becoming attracted to nude lesbians as well as heterosexual females. Nudity often brings arousal, sexual urges and that means TROUBLE. Consider the harrassment, attacks, fights, lawsuits... Anyone who says they cannot picture that isn't being real.

I don't think it would really make a significant difference in the major crimes that are committed as they are about violence and power and nothing more.
Other crimes that are more minor would probably be decreased because the human body would no loger be taboo and no longer hold the fascination that it does for people because you're not supposed to be able to see x, y, or z.

Well you can take the safety measures of running in a miniskirt highheels and covered in lipgloss. Ill teach my daughters should I have any, to dress appropritate and look for more than popularity and a hot bod in a guy.

It would certainly cut WAY down on certain kinds of voyeurism and pornography crimes. Probably cut into the profits of strip clubs and the clothing industry too.

i believe disturbed men or women, who themselves are sexually deviant, like to push their own twisted views of the world on everyone else to make themselves feel "normal." if someone has the urge to violate a woman because she is dressed skimpily, there is something wrong with them. they need help because they are likely to be predatory. they are also in the minority. 99% of men have self control. let's work on ostrasizing men who bother and abuse women (and make excuses for it, like 'well, she was wearing a lowcut top'), and draw focus away from what women wear--what women wear has nothing to do with rape. it is never the victim's responsibility when she is raped or abused. i think society is infected with the belief systems of a very disturbed few who want to believe it is a woman's fault when she is raped.
