My friend was a guy. Most of my friends are guys, actually. We'd been what I thought was close friends for 5 or 6 years. I'm so hurt and insulted.

So I shouldn't have guy friends because of my looks? Because we are a different sex?
My closest and most cherished friends throughout my life have been guys. Some girls of course, but mostly guys.
It makes the connection less important, less meaningful, the "times had" and tough times gotten through because of having each other in your lives less important because you are of the opposite sex?
I don't understand that.

I couldn't have done that with this friend, Icy.
We don't live near each other anymore.... although he has come where I live now to visit me several times since the move.

I would regret my time that I lost with someone I considered a friend turned out to be fake. A friend never ends a friendship! He can keep away from touch but he would never say I end the friendship. I would feel really so hurt and take it as an insult.

by using fact the questions says 'undesirable' friendship, it of course shows that the friendship grew to become into laid on the commencing up of dishonesty, hypocrisy, loss of have faith or information or any of those issues. whilst even the backside of it wasn't sturdy, and started with a bent concepts-set which grew to become into no longer sufficient to sustain it, then the friendship will lead to problems basically. no longer basically that, all the way via, the era of this undesirable commencing as much as the disastrous end ought to have been turbulent and crammed with problems too.

That's just not fair. There's way too much emphasis on monogamy these days. See what happens? Fear generated by the mere perception of lack of fidelity has spoilt a good friendship. You may have broken a cardinal sin.... the way to keep your attached manly friends is to befriend their women overtly.
For example, I have three old gf's who regularly visit my wife... sometimes all at the same time. I just go out to the pub.

Girl, I know exactly how you feel. I experience that very same thing...Not sure why people make the choices that they do, but they are the ones that have to live with it.
Good luck, and hopefully one day your friend will realize that they were wrong. Unfortunately, it will be after their partner has packed up and left.

I had that happen. I called her and told her how shitty it was that she just washed her hands of me as a friend. My friend did it by IM instead of email though. After a few days she called me and appologized. We are still friends today.

Lay low
she knows not what she has done.
when she comes to her senses you can talk to her about her behavior. Don't hold it against her. Say hello but do not under ANY circumstances make plans to be with her.
But what if she sees you as at threat as well?
What were you two doing that she needs to pull out of? anything at all. anything you can think of? if so... maybe think about some changes of your own :)

well... men being friends with single chicks (especially hot ones) usually involves more than just friendly feelings.
EDIT: newsflash: single guys friends with single girls. not a problem. but don't think that the guys don't imagine seeing you naked on a regular basis. it's not like you're an ogre. i would bet mucho dinero that all of your guys friends masturbated thinking about you... at least a handful (pun) of times.

I guess the friend wasn't secure in her(?) relationships, either with you or dude(?). That really blows.
edit - Oh yeah, that makes more sense - I didn't read that right, ha!
