You gas tank might have a drain plug, check the tank first as this is the easiest thing to do, otherwise you'll have to siphen it out, but be very careful doing that. Of course your car might also have a stopper as some do now, to prevent hoses from going into the tank for that purpose. In that case, you'll have to take the tank out and drain it the hardvway.

Have you ever siphoned gas out of a tank? Insert a four foot long 1/2" diameter hose down the filler neck past the restrictor and into the bottom of the tank. Place the other end of the hose in a container to hold the fuel you have removed.Use a siphon pump (available at auto parts store) to suck the fuel up over the high point. The fuel should begin to flow on its own. Do this until the tank is empty. Refill with a gallon of gasoline and head to the station to fill it up. The residual diesel fuel will only act as a lubricant and may cause your car to smoke a bit but it will soon be gone. Make sure you do this out doors in a well ventilated area. If you ran the car with the diesel in it you may have to drain the fuel filter and replace the plugs.

Well, you could take the car to a shop that specializes in repairing tanks. They could drain it as they have the proper non-sparking tools. The alternative is to syphon out as much of the diesel as you can and then dilute the remainder with a full tank of gasoline. A little diesel is unlikely to do any harm. It's undiluted gasoline in your diesel tank that would be potentially dangerous. Some people actually put a little diesel in their regular gasoline as an economical anti-knock alternative to premium gasoline. It really depends on the car, if it's on warranty or a very expensive car go with the former. If it's a 1989 Impala or whatever go with the latter course of action.

I would have a certified mechanic drain the fuel tank. Tow the vehicle to the mechanic or find a mobile mechanic. You don't want to try to drain the tank yourself I have seen this procedure go horribly wrong before.

You have to grt it drained one way or another. Just keep looking till you find a shop that will do it. All the ones that turn you down should be exposed to others. Tell as many people as possible. This mistake is made more than one would think. Good luck.

First, I don't know how you did that, the diesel nozzle will not fit into a gasoline fill pipe. Second, as much diesel as possible must be removed then filled right up with gasoline to dilute whats left, and then simply burn it off by driving.

You'll have to find a mobile repair person who will come out and pump your tank out.
