A big factor is your weight. You admit you don't eat a lot, and being underweight causes you to miss your period, and possibly just completely stopping altogether. It's very unhealthy for you. Exercising also plays a huge role. I used to dance 6-8 hours a week, which played a major factor in when I got my period. Be smart; if you're exercising a lot you should also be maintaining a healthy diet. You could be burning more calories than you actually consume, which is not something you want to do. Like everyone else says, you should really go to a doctor. Going on the pill also helps you regulate your period. Good luck.

If you weigh less than 7 stone , I've heard, your periods will stop. Your body would not be able to safely sustain a pregnancy so it's your body's way of protecting you. It is also a warning sign though - it's not good to be that underweight and there can be all sorts of long term implications.
If you have so much difficulty in eating it wouldn't hurt to see your doctor for help with that.
Best of luck!

If you are eating so little that you are so think you do not menstruate, then it's likely you have an eating disorder. Not menstruating fro an extended period of time is really really bad for your bones. They become depleted and weak. More women die of osteoporosis than of cancer. So you are affecting your health for the rest of your life. I don't know that I can convince you to go to a doctor about evaluation for an eating disorder, but if you're concerned about the effects of no period, then you should go to see a gynecologist. They'll likely give you birth control pills, which will give you enough hormones that your bones will not be affected by your lack of menstruation.

7 months is ALOT! you really need to go see your GP and get checked out, it could be serious. it could be nothing much just somthing small but you cant take that risk.
it could be that your way underweight and need to put some on. eat more and do a little less exercise, i have to warn you, nearly every anorexic person's period stops. im not saying your anorexic but you could be close and that could be why your period has been MIA for so long.
please go to the doctors for your own sake, they're the only people who can REALLY help.

i am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and this is not right. You are lacking in vitamins. Go to your health shop and get some evening primrose oil capsules and black cohosh capsules. Your hormones may need a boost and black cohosh will help as it is the nearest thing to our own hormones. Your diet is also at fault get some advice about this from a qualified dietitian

You need to go to the doctor. Having under a certain amount of body fat (I think it's 12%, but I may be wrong) is unhealthy and can stop your menstrual flow all together. That seems to be your problem. And I'm not sure, but I think it may contribute to possible infertility.

You might be going through a growth spurt. It is normal for periods to be very irregular in teenage girls since they are still growing - though not as much as before they started menstruation. Growth hormones are still circulating in their bodies and this can cause menstruation to be stop awhile. To be safe though, ask your doctor and be sure that you are not losing too much weight.

it sounds like to need to eat more, if you don't eat a lot or have an eating disorder then your period can stop. U need to have a healthy diet so your body can function properly and yes if u stop eating u could have trouble conceiving as you are damaging your body! Be healthy hun! x
