I just want to say I have had Mormon friends and Mormon schoolmates, but I have this question:
Is the Mormon religion somewhat prejudiced?
I have been told by other Mormons they WOULD NOT date outside their own race unless its Asian. I have also been told someone that was not White will never be accepted. And lastly I was told that Blacks are cursed.
I know it will sound like rubbish to many and it sounds like rubbish to me, but is there any truth at all in this?
Please dont blast me with being racist because for the millionth time I am not-but this is a question I have never got an answer to.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all humans are literally the spirit offspring of the eternal Heavenly Father. In the sight of God, race, color, and nationality make no difference, an idea stressed in the Book of Mormon: "He inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; . . . and all are alike unto God" (2 Nephi 26:33). Spencer W. Kimball, former President of the Church, said that racism was of the devil and had no part in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus Christ came to earth to die for all humankind and to teach them how to live—to love both God and their fellow men and women. Prior to June 1978, priesthood denial to blacks within the Church aroused both concern about and accusations of racism in the Church. For more than a century, Presidents of the Church had taught that blacks were not yet to receive the priesthood, for reasons known only to God, but would someday receive it. In 1978, President Kimball received a revelation making all worthy male members of the Church eligible for the priesthood without regard for race or color.

where services are conducted--we have buildings, we call them chapels. they look like most other churches, except we don't put up crosses. We have services on Sunday. We have announcements, sing a hymn, have an opening prayer by someone in the congregation. Ward business, then bless and pass the sacrament. Then, talks, closing song, and closing prayer. Basically, that's it. Priests--We don't have one person who's paid clergy, like other Christian churches. Almost all men, 12 and older, hold various levels of the priesthood of Christ, authorized by Christ to conduct His church. There is a bishop who presides over the ward, and he is a member of the ward and holds that position for maybe about five years or so, and then someone else does it. We all take turns doing all the business of our ward of the church. For instance, my husband has been a primary (children's) teacher, a Scout leader, Elder's quorum president, and is now an assisstant to the High Priests group leader. I have taught in all levels, run the library, taught music, played piano, choir director and music coordinator. The ward "president" is called the bishop. We usually refer to each other as "Brother" or "sister" so and so. We also have full time missionaries, who serve for two years (18 months for sisters), and we do invite them to our homes for dinner. The bishop is usually married, so he spends time with his family on Sunday. We can counsel with our bishop when ever we feel the need. Or seek out others who might be knowledgeable. If you want to know any more, you can email me, or see our wib site.

Since we are Christians, racism is not tolerated within the church. We are, however, only human beings. Some members may feel racist tendencies, but we must be patient with them as they learn to overcome such feelings, just like we would if they were struggling with any other weakness.
The church gives the following counsels to members with regards to friendship and dating:
1. Choose friends who share your values so you can strengthen and encourage each other in living high standards. A true friend will encourage you to be your best self.
2. Date only those who have high standards and in whose company you can maintain your standards. A young man and a young woman on a date are responsible to help each other maintain their standards and to protect each other’s honor and virtue.
Hope this helps. If you would like more information, send me an e-mail.

Not true. There are many mixed marrages of every variety in the Church. There are part member families. Some times the spouse joins, and sometimes the member goes inactive.
What is true is that members are encouraged to marry in the temple and raise their family in the Church. This is a lot simpler if both are members.

I was raised LDS and never had any prejudicial experiences (half race mexican/white). The only time I experienced anything like that was when I married my husband (he's jewish) there was lots of pressure to convert him (I would never do that). I think it was the people you were speaking with as opposed to the religion as a whole.
I would never blast you for any such thing! LOL...have a great day!
