IF WATER IS H2O HOW COME WHEN WATER THAT IS CALLED DEAD CAN STILL BE SEEN AND HAS NOT CHANGED INTO HYDROGEN GAS WHEN IS SUPPOSED TO BE OXYGEN DEPLETED

No oxygen in water means that there is no O2 gas dissolved in solution (of H2O).

It's similar to when a soda goes flat. When you open a can of soda there is a lot of dissolved CO2 gas in it, but let it set out for a while and it goes flat -- it is 'dead' of CO2.

A goldfish in a bowl of water uses the DISSOLVED air in order to extract the Oxygen to live. Leave it too long in the same water without aerating it, the water becomes 'Dead'...no dissolved air (oxygen). The fish, poor devil, passes away, as would we without the Oxygen of the air. The original 'Compound' of H2O remains unchanged but, will not support an aquatic animal.

By oxygen depleted, they mean that O2 dissolved in the water is gone. Water is still H2O, but no longer has O2 dissolved in it.

put it in more basic terms, its like a person, you can see him when he's alive, and when he's dead you can still see him its just that he's no longer active.
Its the same with oxygen in water, its still there just not active.

because the water has had oxygen and other substances drained out so it is pure water.
