There wouldn't be much of any other choice. Iraq made a law saying that we're not allowed to stay there permanently...

It's their country after all, not ours. If we don't respect their rules there was no point in giving them a democracy to begin with.

Let's get real for minute here...
The US didn't engage in a massive military mobilization, go into trillions of dollars of debt, billions of which went to building military/political compounds inside Iraq that are larger and more complex than the Pentagon - just to turn it all over to anybody.
We're there to stay, for a long, long time.

No. We have effectively left the bases we were maintaining in saudi Arabia. One of the ancillary benefits to ousting Saddam is that we intended all along to shift our saudi presence to Iraq. Therefore, we will be maintaining our Iraqi bases for the forseeable future.
