I live in Ohio. I've went to 5 different places that SELL Western Union money orders, but will not cash it unless it came from that place. Tell me, if I had a money order that came from a store, why would I want to cash it at that store? WTF is the point of getting a money order & then cashing it from the same place?
But, I've tried everything. This is ridiculous. Where can I cash it? Cuz dumb me went ahead and mailed out the package to the lady that sent me the money order. So now if it's not a legit money order, I'm screwed. So someone tell me.

Oh, and I tried 2 different check cashing businesses like Cash Advance, and they said they can't unless it came from there as well.

Some stores that sell money orders do not cash them. What they do with the money orders that were purchased from them is refund the money to you.

I've never had any problems with a check cashing place refusing to cash a western union money order.

You should also be able to go to a Western Union location (where they wire the money--not just a place that sells only WU money orders) and have them cash it for you.

If it is a real WU money order, it would also be alright to just deposit it into your bank account as you would a check.

Western Union money orders are worthless in today s world!!!!!! For one thing you cannot cash them any where. When you find a check cashing place that might cause not all will unless they know you and call the western union in Colorado which cost over 7 dollars to cash a 40 dollar western Union money order!!!!!! I found Wellsfargo will not cash them either and its from them!!!!!!! So yes if you are intelligent then do not buy them cause whom ever you send them to will have one hell of a time cashing them if they even can!!!!

Banks will cash only if you have an account with them. Do not accept WU money orders any longer! They are VERY difficult to cash. PO money orders are the better choice.
