In public places (on the street, in the mall, etc.), I don't have a problem with cameras. In private places (my home, the bathroom, etc.), no cameras spying on me.

But cost is also a big factor. How much are you willing to pay for your safety? Do you want your taxes to go up so we can pay for these cameras?

All over US?
You mean on streets, outside buildings, brighes, etc.
How will you moniter them?
How many people are required to watch those cameras?
How can you protect those cameras from vandalism?

I think the better solution will be to moniter via satallite instead of cameras.

It is already being done. look at the traffic lights in most cities they have cameras mounted on them. log on to google earth and type in a address and it will show you the house.
