Babies do thinks in their own times. If you feel he is behind, take him to the doctor, & have them check him over.

It is perfectly normal for your 7 month old not to be crawling. Early crawling has no link with early walking; in fact it is believes to be the opposite. He's just not ready and you are torturing yourself by comparing him to your cousin's baby. The age at which babies crawl varies so greatly that it is not usually even counted as a developmental milestone as far as health is concerned.
My daughter crawled at 8 1/2 months and was walking at 11. Another baby in the family crawled at 7 months and didn't walk until 14.
He'll crawl when he's ready and no sooner.

Babys all grow differently. My son is 7 months and doesnt really crawl on his hands and knees but sord of army crawls. My friends son is 5 months old and might as well be walking.

You could take his favorite toy and put it a few inches in front of him. It will encourage the baby to move to get what he wants.

I am going to bet that you are a first time parent. I remember when my oldest was born. I was concerned about every milestone, wanting to make them happen.

But they all happened on their own! If he isn't crawling within a couple months, check with his doctor. For right now, just enjoy the fact that he is not getting into things! That day will come soon enough.

Finally, you have a SON! You are going to have a house filled with energy and testosterone and wild running and jumping and yelling and challenging you at every turn. Whew! They are so much fun.

From one worrisome mom to another: don't compare your baby with someone else's. It never works and just makes you freak out.

don't compare your son to other kids. It will only teach him that he's not good enough for your standards. My child was slow to learn everything from crawling to talking to potty training. He didn't even walk till he was 16 months old. There is nothing wrong with him, just show everyone around that you are proud of him no matter what. Oh, and don't forget that there are a lot of babies who never crawl, just go straight to walking.

My son was nine months before he would started crawling. We tried everything to get him crawling, but he would cry like we were punishing him by getting him up on his hands and knees. But we kept working with him and when he was ready he took off and was walking a few months after that. I too felt that he was behind but now he has caught up. Some kids just take longer to get it.

what i would do is get toys that motivate crawling and also put toys out of your baby's reach so that way he/she will be motivated to get it its nothing to worry about all baby's are different. go to walmart or any baby stores and see what toys they have there i found something that u might be interested in here it the website i think this would really help your baby b/c it makes their upper and lower body strength stronger,

He has to develop the muscles to be able to do it. Most babies do this by being on the floor on their stomachs to play on a warm blanket with toys all around to try to get to. It also depends on the size of the baby, if your is bigger it will take him longer since he will have to have stronger muscles to move more weight. Be patient, they all learn at different levels.
Keep an eye on him tho, once he starts moving, you will never stop chasing him. Make sure he can't get hurt while on the floor as well.

Not really - but 7 months is in no way late! My oldest didn't crawl until she was 10 months old... she's totally fine. Maybe increase the tummy time, that'll encourage him to move around more and try to push up on his knees, but really, it's a physical thing. They won't, and can't, do it until they're ready.

dont force him. talk to a doctor if it concerns you that much but not all children will ever crawl and it is not even a necessiary step in development. just let him develop at his own pace- he will crawl/ walk when he is ready. and dont compare him to other kids- youre just setting him up for stress and failure later in life and what will you say when he says to you " but your cousins son is doing it!"
