I'd like to know what U.S citizens think.
Do you think it would be better if the president had to choose his cabinet from amongst elected officials rather than the current unelected system??
Please give reasons for your thoughts

I believe that it wouldn't make a difference, since those that the President select as his cabinet come from a stock of those that hold similar ideas as his/hers. This would be the same if he/she had to select from a group of elected officials as well. He/she would also select from a similar pool also. I never-the-less believe that the current system was suppose to incorporate minds that were free from partisanship and not based on litmus test or political affiliations. in reality this system if ran accurately would be fair and effective.

No, selecting cabinet members from elected official would require special election all the time to refill the positions he got his cabinet members from.

And no to direct election because the American people can't even be bothered to investigate the presidential candidates, They'd never be informed on dozens of cabinet members. It would also make the ballot overly long and complicated, meaning people would just skip it anyway. Also it would make it impossible for a president to confide in his cabinet and gridlock the system.

From elected? No. The president should be able to put in his own choices, not have to give out positions as favors or repayment for political debts.
