Many studies over the years have shown that more handsome men and more beautiful women get more breaks, have more doors opened for them and advance more easily in many businesses than us not so handsome people.

However, there are always many exceptions to the rule. There is also a downside to being too beautiful or too handsome. Those that are often are not taken seriously, often deemed superficial and often are the targets of unmentioned envy.

(A quick story: In my line of work, first in the military, then as a fed, then in the private sector, being handsome would have been a great disadvantage. I would not have been taken nearly as seriously while doing my job. I was a profiler, then a PI. In fact, my looks (rugged outdoors-type) added an intimidation factor to my effectiveness.)

When I was younger I certainly wished I had been born more handsome. As I matured I came to understand that being so would probably have hindered who I've become and likely stifled my creative abilities. And now I consider myself lucky that I look exactly like what I am: which is an artist and writer.

One of the kindest things a young woman ever said to me (even though she didn't intend it as a complement) was that I looked like a mountain man who would have a large library in his cabin.

I can live with that.

I will say this for the beautiful people, other people are attracted to you because you look inviting.

As for intelligent people, when you speak people listen.

Do I wish I were more of both? Certainly.

Who would not want to be an extreme that attacts others?

Oh yes, the answer is NO, but; I do think the the beautiful and intelligent people tend do better in life with the gifts they are given. It is not easier but it is better results wise.

Yes. Subconsciously people are kinder to the better looking ones. Your'e born with a certain framework and you can only do so much to change things.
