Ooooohh, tough one - this is often hotly debated in our house and we can never decide as they are both top movies, I have seen Shawshank more times than I can count though so if I had to choose one to watch right now it would be Green Mile.

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption was fantastic as a film but the Green mile was great as a book.Love them both.Good question,buddy.

Shawshanks a much better movie,great acting,great characters,and a great story.The Green Miles a good film as well,but it's more like a TV movie to me.

They are both excellent films. Well acted and directed. It's very difficult to chose between the two.
I'll go for the Green Mile because Tom Hanks is of of my favourite actors.
