Yes, while it is not mandatory to get a check up in order to get pregnant, it is highly recommended that you do go to a doctor/ob-gyn before you try to conceive for a number of advantageous reasons:

1) If you have any nutrient deficiency, your doctor can address that and advise you to take certain natural vitamins/supplements or to eat more of a certain kind of food. This is balance your body better and make your body more ready for pregnancy. A healthy balanced body is also more likely to conceive and also more likely to avoid miscarriages.

2) A check up will allow you to spot potential problems that you might have to address before considering pregnancy. Everything from your blood pressure to body fat can affect conception.

3) I would definitely check up on STDs too if you feel that you might have contracted one. This will definitely affect your reproductive health as well as the health of your baby-to-be.

Nope. As long as you're in a monogamous relationship I see no reason to STD test - and as long as you are in generally good health, I see no need for a pre-conception exam.

I don't like going to the doctor as it is, and you have to go so often once you're pregnant anyway.

One thing I would at least recommend if you're TTC is to start taking a prenatal suppliment, that way when you do concieve your baby is getting the proper nutrients right away - even before you know he's there!

Good luck!

Didnt get the STD testing but I did get a check up. I just wanted to be sure that I was healthy and that all my reproductive organs were in good working order before I activly started TTC.

At 22, maximum medical doctors will turn any different way. I basically became 25 the day previous and it took us 3.5 years to do it ourselves. I talked to a reproductive endocronoligist (RE) and in a nut shell, they instructed me to maintain attempting. in case you have odd sessions, they could desire to have the skill to place you on something which will regulate it. An OB will try for STDs in case you think of that's the concern. stable success

I didn't because me and my husband have only been with eachother, but if that is not the case with you then you definitly need to get tested so that you don't pass on an std to the baby.

You don't necessarily need to go to the doctor, but you should at least be on pre-natal vitamins. Folic acid is very important in the first few weeks of pregnancy, when you usually don't yet know you are pregnant.

No, my husband has been my first and only partner. I try to go for my yearly exams but I hadn't gone in 3 years this time when I got pregnant.

No. I didnt have sex until I was married, so where would I get an STD?

And why do I need a check up to get permission to copulate?

and like wise with him, I was his first, and only
and in my case he will be my last.
