we don't convert cm to cm^3
cm------> for length
cm^2---> for area
cm^3---> for volume

so these are 3 different measurements

RE:
How do you convert centimeters to cubic centimeters?

2015-08-19 01:12:15 · answer #2 · answered by Britani 1 · 0 0

You can't.... because one is a measurement of length and the other is a measurement of volume.

However if someone said they had a rectangular box with dimensions of 2 cm, 3 cm and 4 cm, the volume would be 2 x 3 x 4 = 24 cubic cm.

centimeters can not be converted to cubic centimeters, they have different dimensions. You obtain a number in cubic centimeters when you multiply three numbers in centimeters to obtain that number.

*hi,
You cannot convert centimeters to cubic centimeters.
This is so because these are two different units..

It is just like asking "how do you convert apples to mangoes?"

"centimeters" is a unit of length.

"cubic centimeters" is a unit of volume.

Crashbird is correct. These are different units of measure. You can use centimeters to measure the dimesions of a 3 dimensional object to determine volume, but there is no "conversion".
