I always like the Clark Kent costume.

Dress shirt unbuttoned, tie half down, Superman shirt under a suit. Black rimmed glasses and a fedora hat.

It was a hit for me one Halloween.

How about a hippie? It takes minimal effort. Just find a pair of faded jeans, a tie dye shirt, a bandana to wrap around your head, and a peace sign necklace and you're all set :)
