I wish I knew but burglars always go for soft targets and I think their security system is poor. I am aware that if someone is determined to get in they will do so in any house but I would have thought that a large property is very vulnerable and would need the sort of tip top system that their money should be able to buy.
In the meantime I hope they catch those or he/her who has committed these crimes because Burglary is a crime against us all. At the final analysis footballers are just ordinary young men who have touched lucky and that does not entitle anyone to enter their houses and steal their property or frighten their wives.
I do get a little tired of the sort of "joke" at the end of your question. Leave the Scouse jokes to Tom O'Connor he is funny. Jews tell the best anti-Semitic jokes and Scousers tell the best Scouse jokes

I remember before in the paper there was one guy who was playing at a match and his house was done over while he was playing =/
they are on serious amounts of money.. so thats part of the issue as well and because they are so well known people know they aren't poor.
