Only the paranoid, aka Reps/Cons believe it's a serious threat. Funny thing is, none of these cowards are willing to fight in this war either. Reps/Cons are unpatriotic traitors who hate America and support the terrorist. There. I said it. Just like they say to us although it makes much more sense when talking about them.

Yes. Whether they are behind the attacks or not they are a real threat because they breed fear. Fear is a threat to my family's way of life and, as such, a threat to my family.
Whoever was behind it can strike anywhere if they can steal a few planes and turn them into horrible weapons. What makes any of us so special we think we are immune?
I think everyone should visit the memorial at least once in their life. We went and it was a bit of an eye opener to see how big an area was affected. I know the nay sayers against the war will say "it wasn't as big a body count as WWI or Vietnam" but most of those people live in their bubble of a world without a care about fellow Americans until its their family killed by someone yelling the name of their god.
I believe, thus far, terrorism has killed more Americans than global warming. Maybe not diabetes...but that's another story of corruption.
I would question the idea that we are, in any way, shape, or form an "innocent" country. But if you don't like America then ignore it don't attack it.
As to the silliness that we "created" Al-Qaeda, what should we have done said "You are right we are an evil country" and all turned Islam, repenting of our infidel ways?
I have no sympathy for Al-Qaeda and have no interest in seeing things from their perspective. Turn their little mountain into a glass work of art and get it over with...
Which brings the real threat. With Japan and Germany, even Saddam to a certain extent, we were at war with countries. The Islam extremist operate in "cells" which makes it a much more dangerous operation than any previous war. And, whether Bush's reasons were to fight his Daddy's war or not, to pull back now would certainly not send the right message to the enemy.

Global warming is not a threat to anyone. It also is something that man has little control over as the planet has cooled & warmed since its' creation and will continue to do so regardless of man.
Mall & school shootings happen becuase there are insane people in the world (similar to those in Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups) whom are bent on killing. The mall & school shootings can not be prevented unless the person is caught before hand or found out to have mental problems and they are given help or locked up. If someone wants to get a weapon and kill people they will do it.
The political system in the United States has people in it that are corrupt and parts of the system can be reformed to prevent some fraud and to prevent people from staying in political office too long (ie, term limits) but the system itself as a whole is not corrupt. I am unaware of any other political system in any other country that I would trust more than the one we have in the United States. There is room for some improvement but the entire system should not be condemned.
The federal government only has a few powers granted to it by the Constitution and our Founding Fathers. All other powers are left to the States. Of the powers & obligations the federal government has is to keep us free & safe. The federal government should be defending us, maintaining a strong military and killing our enemies. We do have enemies and they want to kill us. Americans travel the world and do business around the world and therefore the government must protect us and our national interests.
The federal government should be focusing its' attention on terrorism and not random school shootings or the nonsense of global warming theorists.
Threats to our 'modern life' as you put it are high taxation & redistribution of wealth through the tax code, expanding government into areas it should not be, over regulation, terrorism, eroding property rights, gun control laws, lack of immigration control & enforcement, the misintrepretation of the Constitution granting children born of illegals citizenship status, judicial activism / out of control judges & trial lawyers, and lack of a free market in K-12 education. These are real issues that we must address and correct.
I'm assuming your young and have yet to really experience life..... ie, get a job, pay a mortgage, plan for retirment, pay property taxes & income taxes & capital gains taxes & inheritence taxes & the numerous other taxes we face, attend city council meetings & county board meetings, deal with the government siezing your property and/or eliminating your property rights & thus your ability to be free, etc. Once you gain more life experience you will see that the items I pointed out above are truly things we need to be concerned about and not ansillary items that we have little or no control over and that at the end of the day affect our lives very little if at all.

Yes I Do believe that they are a threat to my Family and my Country, our borders are so porous that they could walk a nuke into any city in the southwest and kill millions, when I lived in Texas there was a cell busted in Midland, Now i live in Montana, where they could walk across the northern border, But at least they can't do it in winter and we're all armed up here!!!!
Close the borders and build the walls or homeland security is no more than a punchline!!!!
Gun ownership = "homeland security"
Note to "Mother" the police investigate crimes after the fact! They are not herehto protect you or your kids, That's your job!!

Americans love to obsess about issues with little fact to base it on. I was there at both WTC attacks and lost loved ones Terrorism is real but who leads the terrorist I don't think anyone knows for sure. Bin Laden was involved but there is a higher up. I believe this upcoming elections dems to be a serious threat and I know how to read

Yes. Several attacks have been thwarted and they have successfully carried out attacks in many nations. I find it hard to believe based on all of the documented cases of attacks or attempted attacks that you would not perceive Al-Qaeda and their various affiliated terrorist groups to be a threat. But then again, perhaps you believe that 9-11 was an inside job.
I don't perceive global warming to be a threat based on the research that's been produced (many scientists don't either). I cringe when I school kids lamenting over the fate of the polar bears. Too bad they no longer teach facts and critical thinking skills in schools.

El" Demorat" Raton hit the nail on the head.
BTW Global Warming is a NWO hoax to get people to agree to their own repression and many mall/school shootings show signs of being 'inside jobs' - which is the case at Columbine.
check out 'MK Ultra'.
everyone is in jeopardy the problem is most don't realize from whom.

Far more of a threat than Saddam Hussein ever was. More so now that we have stirred up the hornet's nest in the Middle East.
