No. If I hurt is because of my own psychological filters. Others may not agree that the cause of my hurt is justified. Besides, just because someone hurt me doesn't mean they'll hurt others.

I can't say obligated as that has literal as well as a legal meaning to it but I do feel morally compelled to protect others from those who hurt me and from those I fear will hurt them even if I am not in the picture. When you see danger and ignore it you have no one to blame but yourself for the damage that may happen if you say or do nothing. On the other hand, if you say or do what little you can and bad things still happen at least you can find no regrets in your actions. That is why I always want to protect those around me if I can. No one should ever have to hurt for one's actions or lack thereof.

The answer is not exactly in those terms.

Happy Birthday.

This is a hard question for me to answer. The person that hurt me, like I have never been hurt before, wouldn't hurt anyone else that I care for.
I don't really feel I need to protect them but they are not allowed around this person anymore.

I do have to protect myself tho. I know now that given the chance, he will do what he thinks will cause me the greatest hurt to get back at me for not picking him many years ago. who know one person could hold in such hate for so many years.

It depends on the situation. For example -

If my grandmother happened to be taken advantage of by a con, I feel obligated to proctect the elderly and take action.

However, if I just dumped a cheating boyfriend, I would not feel obligated to call his new girl friend and warn her about him.

if it's like...a murderer or someone, then i will try and protect them...though being 13, i'll probably be the one being protected, unless it's just me and someone younger

for emotinoal pain...it depends. if that person was truly and obviously bad, and intentionally hurt me, yes, i will try and protect otehrs. however, if someone hurt me unintentionally, such as a divorce because a marriage simply didn't work out, i won't protect someone, becuase the other person did not hurt me by full blown intention, and can still bring hapiness to another.

I don't feel obligated to protect anyone from anything except for myself and my family.

not obligated, i just care enough to try to keep them clear of their way. i may come off as controlling but i don't want the people i care about to be done wrong.
