Wait! Why the hell is Yahoo!Answers removing my game questions if I placed a warning that it contains some mature content? It's not like I posted the thing for the sole purpose of annoying or offending people. Hell, some people even requested me to do more of my "Would You Rather...?" questions. In addition to that, my poem, which was emulated from Allen Ginsberg's "Howl" was removed just because some over-zealous religious moralists don't agree with my point-of-view?

The FCC's taking over the f*cking internet. What's next, a restriction on masturbati0n?

I understand that Yahoo!'s a private company but it still frustrates me that their rules are black & white (unfortunately always in favor of strict "moral" codes). Hell, I can't even criticize anything anymore. The other day someone was asking for opinions on his poem. So I wrote that it lacked a lot of things and gave some suggestions (no vulgar or offensive language at all). And 5 minutes later, my answer went *poof*

Besides, if I place something like "WARNING: MATURE CONTENT 16+" ..that's a fair warning for people. Sadly, a lot of them don't get the message and would rather click it anyway and btch about it later. It's not like I'm posting some fcked-up porn movie links or anything.

They are restricting nothing, you are free to post what you want, like you are now. That's freedom of speech. You don't have a right to subject others to your speech, meaning you can't guarantee that they will listen to or tolerate what you say. You are also subject to Yahoo's TOS.

People need to understand their rights before they can effectively complain about alleged violations.

It has nothing to do with the FCC. Yahoo is a private business. They can set their own rules as they choose. If you don't like it, all you have to do is open your own portal website that can run under your rules.

Hey, if you can't follow the guidelines, you're going to be reported and have things removed. That's how it works. You may not think it's fair, but those are the rules. If you don't follow them, too bad. Maybe you should create your own site and then you can make up the rules.

Fairly certain the freedom of speech does not count on a private website. They pay for its upkeep and have right to take down any question or answer etc that they feel is against what they want on their site.

This is not about the 1st Amendment, it is about you not getting what you wanted on someone Else's (Yahoo's) website.

Nothing to do with the FCC. When you signed up, that was explained in the community guidelines, which you have to agree to follow to use this. So no, they can moderate however they want.

You need to obey by the Community Guidelines, if not, you won't last long. The FCC has absolutely no jurisdiction here.
