I always liked the statistic 50% of everyone is below average.

Having said that , there are 6.9 billion people, so you're looking at a genuine bumper crop of mediocrity. About 3.45 billion of your fellow planetary citizens are officially "not too bright".

The smartest human could consider all the rest "dumb asses", but that wouldn't necessarily exclude him/her from being one of the crowd. The smartest pigeon is still pretty stupid.

HA----! :) Well a normal "bell curve" is 10% dumb, 80% average, 10% smart--------

However my personal opinion here in the USA is that the actual bell curve is 30% dumb, 60% average, and 10% smart.

Kind of lopsided toward the DUMB side!

That is a relative terms, based on one's own intelligence. Steven Hawking probably feels that 99.9% fall in this catagory, while I, on the other hand, find very few in this catagory.
