I'm just curious, I hadn't really thought about it that much but I have an 8 week old baby. I am planning on waiting 18 months before TTC again and I wanted to see what other women did after c-section, since you are encouraged to wait around 18 months to make sure you're fully healed.

My doctor recommended I wait 12-18 months to even try to have another baby. I've had 3 cesareans now and I had all my kids almost exactly 3 years apart.

i had my first son vag. i had my 2nd son 5 years later, it ended in a c-section. i had my 3rd son 2 1/2 years later scheduled c-section. that 3rd baby is 8 months old and i am 12 weeks 5 days preg with baby #4. hoping its a girl since im trying my tubes after delivery. this one also will be a planned c-section. im not sure what if any problems i may have since i just had a c-sec 8 months ago, so far so good. my dr doesnt seem at all worried. my best friend had a c-sec and then was preg 4 months later, her kids are 3 and 4 now and she and them are fine. she had no problems in her pregnancy just because they were so close. waiting for 18 months also has to do with giving your body time to build up all the vitamins the baby depleted from your body.

My doctor told me it was best to wait 18 months to get pregnant, no matter how I delivered. I did have a C-section for #1, and got pregnant with #2 when #1 was 10 months old, and I was not trying. My body handled it fine, I found recovery pretty easy for both. Talk to your doctor, and do what feels right for your body and your family! Good luck!

I had a c-section and didn't even know you were supposed to wait for any amount of time. It sounds like 18 months should be fine. Thanks for asking the question though, now I know!

My doctor told me to wait at least a year before I tried to get pregnant again, that way you are healed and your uterus will be able to take the growing without the chance of bursting.

After a c-section you just have to wait a few months for the incisions to heal.

I dont think having a c-section changes how you would conceive your second child. I would go about it the same way you went about making the one you have. You should do fine. You have a ways to go anyway. Good luck.

I don't think it matters much either. I know they tell you to wait a while, but my hubby's brother's wife had a c-section with #1 and #2, and they're only about 9 months apart, and her #2 is 9 months old now and #3 is on it's way. She's obviously not worried...so I don't see how it's a huge problem.
