I don't think any candidates' supporting their own religion will ever be their undoing, BUT making disparaging remarks about someone else's religion very well could. Huckabee should have just said, "I don't know much about Mormonism" and left it at that.

Although, frankly, I think he was not being totally truthful anyway, because doesn't he have a degree in Theology? You would think that would give you a working knowledge of other religions.

He definitely dropped in my estimation as a candidate.

I've watched Huckabee in several interviews, and it seems to me the press is continually trying to trap him into saying something derogatory about someone else's religion or lack thereof. For the most part, he has done a great job of avoiding casting aspersions and remained focused on describing himself.

Will his religiosity be his undoing? It doesn't appear to be working that way so far.

I don't think so. I believe this could propel him to victory. Most Americans are looking for a Christian conservative canidiate. I think Mike Huckabee would fit the bill nicely. Even more so then my personal favorite Fred Thompson.

Let's hope so! We don't need a "Preacher" in the White House! (unless he's there to "bless" Thanksgiving dinner for the President!)
