Bytes and bits are two totally different things. You'd have a 400KB/s down speed with that connection. Ours is 5.9mbps and downloads at 830KB/s.

the main thing with download is where your downloading from since websites and download sites can only give so much bandwidth eg speed to a user on the website
also with a 3mbps connection your max download speed is around 300kbps. since it will not be 3mbps
since the isp is working that is 3mega bits per second not 3 mega bites per second.
to get a download speed of 3mb per second you would need a 30mb connection.

Hi. There are no DSL connections that run at 3Mbps. 300kbps is faster that dial-up's 56kbps maximum.
