How stupid am I? If they have no power, they won't be on the internet will they?

I also wish them well but I don't know when it started or if it is still going on!

Hey all, and thank you every body. I have power for right now, could go back off at anytime. We now have a little bit of sleet coming down, it is spitting snow. At least the roads are still pretty clear. I have one friend here that I work with and she still has no power yet. They say that we go back to work tomorrow, time will tell on that one.

This all started Sunday here and most of the ice is gone now, but you can see the all the damage that it has cause. We are not out of it by no means yet.

Still don't know when I will be on here and when I won't. Limbs are still falling. You can sure hear all the chain saws that are running around here.

Thanks for all the nice emails and prayers that I have been getting! I want to share them with all the other folks that are going through this down here too. :) Thanks to all !!

Suzie Q - I posted a similar question. Am in Missouri - power STAYED ON - but we did get hit pretty bad last January - no power for 12 days. Stayed with friends. G-d Bless them. They literally saved my life. The worst of this storm has hit Oklahoma and the damage is horrendous - CNN had a good report on the weather there today. Now the storm is heading for Chicago. Spoke to my gf yesterday (she lives in Evanston / just north of Chicago) and said they were warned not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary! So I will hear from her in a few days. I pray she will remain safe and warm. CJ

Oklahoma City had about a million people without power on Sunday from the ice storm.
Joplin Missouri-still has people without power. The trees in the area are devastated, worse than the ice storms we had in January 2007.
Warsaw-St. Joseph and those areas in between are still ice encrusted and many without power.
One area 70 miles west of St. Louis is still without power and the ice on the trees is at least 1/2-1" thick.

Today I received pics from a friend in Kansas who had just been hit with an ice storm. Similar to our hailstorm but over a wider area and fierce enough to knock branches off trees, damage roofs and vehicle windshields. In fact a white out.
The amount of ice in the pics make it look like a couple of inches of snow. Not the sort of weather to be outside in.

Florida....currently it's 78 degrees , sunny with a few passing clouds, humidity is at 44% . Tonight's low 'bout 54. May actually have to "think" or flip a coin to see about closing a window, probably not.Well, it's time to jump back into the pool, fix a Bloody Mary and wonder what kind of dead amimal flesh to throw on the grill !

I'm in St Louis and it's missed us so far. There are some people without power west of here, but for a change, not me. Last year was bad, with the December storm knocking out lots of power. Some people were almost 3 weeks without electricity. Thank heavens for gas heat and fireplaces. People were taking showers at work because there was no hot water at home. (We have a locker room here.)

Check out Oklahoma, Iowa and Nebraska. I think that's where they got the worst of it.
