Hi, Bible Thumper here! This is the second time I've been asked about this movie, and I regret I still have not heard anything about it so I can't speak reliably to the point. But movies as an artform have been targets of religious nay-sayers almost since they've been in existence. My position on them is simple: They are designed to be entertainment and they fulfill that objective quite well. If they also happen to be thought-provoking, well then so much the better. The word of God has stood (and withstood) the entire span of human history without sustaining the slightest bit of damage, so I have no fear that it will continue to do so irrespective of man's efforts. Ironically, it's often well-meaning but misguided zealots that do God's cause infinitely more harm than any movie could ever do. God gave us all free will and a natural curiosity, which much necessarily mean that we are designed to use them.

I read that the movie showcases religion in a fashion that pisses off some right-wingers, but it is not AGAINST God. If anything, it would more be against organized RELIGION, which obviously has some flaws that are not secrets (priests, shootings anyone?) Hell, Christian extremists get mad about Harry Potter....but as I did not write the book, I wont say what, if anything, it is really "against"

I have seen the movie and read all three books, they are wonderful. It is about thinking for yourself. The people who are fighting the right of others to view the movie have never read the books (or seen the film) and therefore know nothing. See it yourself then make up your own mind.

It was written by an Atheist. The bible thumpers think anything that goes against their beliefs is a big huge deal, they forget it is only a movie and a work of FICTION.
