Do you feel safe in Colorado? Considering the recent shootings? Considering the death of JonBenet Ramsey? Considering the 1999 shootings at Columbine? My family and I were going to go to Colorado in the Spring, but now we are not so sure.

The tragic happenings in Colorado, have made some people wary of going there, however.
If you will recall, the Shootings at the university in Virginia earlier this year, the Shootings in Texas many years ago
from the clock tower, and many more things that have happened that are similar.
You take a chance going anywhere these days, however the likelihood of this happening to you is very small.
Do not let this dissuade your family from their trip, and enjoy it.

Are you just visiting, or planning on moving here? Seriously, either way you really don't have anything to worry about. I moved to Colorado from Los Angeles a little over a year ago. I was in Los Angeles for over 12 years. Never a single problem with crime. And I would say that more crime happens in Los Angeles in a week than happens in Colorado in a month! (no statistics to back that up). That said, I felt safe in Los Angeles, and I feel safer in Colorado. I worry a lot more about sliding into a ditch on an icy road than I do getting murdered!!
Colorado is an awesome place- to visit or to live. Don't let a couple of high profile crimes scare you off. I could give you a list of other high profile crimes for every other state in the union. Does that mean you should leave the United States?

I feel very safe in CO. Every state has murders. Every state has crazy people running around-that is impossible to get away from. That being said, I feel very safe here. I have lived in CO my whole life, so have my parents and my grandparents. I have never felt personally unsafe, even living in a large city like Denver.
I really don't think you should base your decision to come here on the high profile cases you see in the news. CO has so much more to offer!

What, like no other states ever have murders? If that's really the way you feel about my state, I'd rather you not visit.
