Try uninstalling the printer and reinstalling it.
Also, check the cords.
Lastly, you could update the drivers online.

If you are printing PDF files then you need to update the pdf reader. If its just plain text then you need to update the driver for the printer. If you cannot update them then uninstall the printer and its drivers. Then re-install. Or you have some adware. Try using ad-aware or spyware terminator. I have seen ad-aware make printing look horrible. let me know.

The drivers are not correct, this is a simple problem with a simple solution, head to the manufacturer's website for the printer and download the latest drivers and software for it. That should do the trick.

unplug the printer. reboot the computer. clear the print spool. plug in the printer. try again

Try upgrading the drivers if that does not work delete the drivers and then reinstall them, hope this helped good luck.
