There was once a term called the one drop rule, if you had one drop of black blood then you were considered black. I don't understand how a person is supposed to deny his/her other heritage if he/she is mixed with black. I would never deny any ethnic drop of blood I have flowing through my veins. Good luck. 2D

It is true that you are the race of what your father is... therefore, if your father is white, than you are considered that.
Obama, Halle, and Terrance Howard, they all have black fathers and consider themselves as black.
Tiger, Mariah Carey, and some others do not say that they are black nor white, and contend that they are a mixture of what their parents are... Although both their fathers are black.
So, it's really your preference. I am not sure what is on their birth certificates. I would imagine black because I don't think that you can check "mulato" like back in days of old.
The truth be told everyone (all races, nationalities) has a smidgen of black in them. Not everyone would admit that though.

For some stupid reason alot of people seem to believe that. I believe that if you are mixed you are just that. I think it tends to have something to do with the openess of the black community to accept them quicker than other cultures. If I am not mistaken that tends to stem back from around the slavery times, when the masters would have biracial children and then not claim them at all. The black community accepted them.

Because to society, we are only seen as Black-plain and simple. It has alot to do with slavery and that mentality of even being 1/8 Black you are still considered Black sometimes. 1/8 isnt very much but it was a way we were seperated from other races.
Its a shame but this is the way it is.

black society is not doing a damn thing to those people: With the exception being Tiger, Obama and Halle proudly proclaim that they are BLACK so why are you trying to take that choice away from them?
