Hi, I need your advice!!!! I am looking for a book with english monologues of classical plays. Must be for men only. It would be great if it was a combination of classical and contemporary monologues. It'll be great if some of you had some advice for me. I am looking for something that drama schools might recommend or any other professionals. Thanks already....

If preparing for college auditions, I don't reccomend using anything from a monologue book. They are overdone, and the directors have heard the same pieces a million times over. Look through Shakespeare, Moliere, Wilde, and Shaw for your classical works. Check out Chekhov, O'Neill, McNally, and Mamet for some contemporary pieces.
Best of luck!

What is recommended is that anyone interested in being an actor read all the plays they can.
