The most important thing to remember throughout all of this is that even if you don't get it right the first time, you can always resit the tests later. Teachers have you believe that if you screw up your SATs it's the end of the world! But seriously, remember that if you take your time, stay calm, and revise everything thoroughly in the weeks leading up to each test you will be fine.
As for getting better at certain subjects, just put an hour a day into the parts you're struggling with - that's 7 hours a week, and 28 a month.

When you say revise, I'm reading study or prepare. If that's what you mean, here's what I do.
First I read the material. Sounds obvious, but a lot of people don't do that. I make an outline of what the teacher talked about in class, including anything I've highlighted or noted in my book. Using that outline, I re-read everything outloud, stopping to "teach" my imaginary class. I explain complicated concepts and reiterate anything I have trouble absorbing. I quiz myself as I go.
When my son was in middle school and I was in college, we both had American History one sememster, same time frame. We did great! This is when I developed my technique because it was how we studied together. He's learning disabled but has a brain like a sponge. If he hears it, he remembers it. That worked for me too, so on all my subjects I started doing this.
On math, I go over all the homework and tests, reworking the problems until I completely understand the why of every step. Math was always my bete noir, so I had to really apply myself to get it.
I graduated in the top 3% of my class, summa, with several awards and scholarships, so I guess it worked. I barely made it through high school, which was way before I figured out how to study.
Good luck!

I think classes are very important because if you use these time well you can get a lot of material out of it. Then you need less time to prepare for the test.

i am in college and i just had five exams this week. it is very stressful, but you just have to be continually studying all the time, you just can't make yourself smarter, some of that was up to genetics, but as for gaining knowledge and doing better in school, just keep your head in the books and out of trouble and you will be just fine!

Unfortunately there is no easy way, you can use whatever is best for you eg mind maps but all in all at the end of the day you've just got to go over the stuff you've learnt over.... and.... over again!!! :) hope i helped! :D
