Dr Rubik designed his cube as a teaching tool to help people think three dimensionally. When it first came out, there were contests to see who could do it in the least time. I saw kids take a randomly repositioned cube and solve it in 30 seconds. There is no trick. You have to learn by trying.

I REALLY got in trouble once by my uncle when I was small because I took the stickers off......all you have to do is make the same turns backwards... it can be a math formula.... the secret is to memorize the turns made and the same turns made backwards

Puzzling isn't it. Is it twist, twist, turn, flip or flip, flip, turn, flip, twist.
As with any puzzle there is a key combination to get it back to the beginning.
Taking it apart defeats what it is trying to teach you. Just go buy a new one. and slowly watch and see how it gets jumbled and how to go backwards and unjumble it.
