The taste of the candy
be bitersweet
for you are not here
to share it with me
The chocolate in candy kisses
falls short of your taste
which has all of my sweetness
wrapped up in it

instead of a present or three

Pauline has been making the fudge for the lions share of 50 years. Upon savoring the first bite she smiled and said, "Smooth and Creamy." Then as only she could she declared I must have forgotten an ingredient and that it would never set. It did.
