My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by. Today I read his obituary. Please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance, for Common Sense had served us all so well for so many generations.
Obituary
Mr. Common Sense
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. ! Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student, but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

You have put my thoughts into words, but alas this too is a common thought by many but in England we are taught to agree and not to challenge, if we do we again get into trouble and are classed as trouble makers and accused of not moving on with the time so nobody will challenge the new rules. common sense has alas died. But not with everyone there are still a few of us left that believe it is still out there somewhere

How did you type that much?....That's not the point here.
Alas, Common Sense - how we abused you to death. It's a shame that we are left with your 3 stepbrothers. May you rest in peace... until the Lord comes back and restores this world to the way He intended it. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

In reading the obitchuary: Ya! HA! HA! I spelled it wrong to make a point. As if life ain't a ***** already, then common sense {moxy} dies when it has been so long over looked without a second thought given to its after effects. We as a society on the humanity side of things, have over looked where each and every one of ourselves has come from. Like it or not Mr. common sense had been marked for death since day one.It started when cane killed able. The downfall of common sense started when cane would not accept the fact that his offering was not good enough. No, I'm not going to preach to you but, you need to understand the example that was set that has led to the death of common sense.Cane acted on impulse insted of taking time to rethink his decision to kill able. You can agree or disagree, but all cane had to do was to do right. He was able to make the right choices but chose not to and became willingly ignorant to do the right thing. He refused to do eternal goodness that would of burned off those thoughts of doing evil. Please don't be dismayed by this writing, but there is a moral to this.Since that time common sense has been ailing and running a high fever while on the verge of death. Man & or women kind has however not been willing to renounce such practices that has put common sense out of his or hers misery. We have become a society of whats in it for me insted of being my brothers keeper by leading the example. My condolences to the survivors, his parents truth& trust, his wife, discretion ,& his daughter, responsibility;& his son reason.& Last but not least, a note to their 3 step brothers. First, know your rights is just as responsible as the rest of us are. So the only right you had was to do right before you so chose to do wrong! As for you, someone else is to blame,You have no one else to blame but yourself for not doing right. There's no excuse for ignorance to the law of just doing right on the choices you made. And, as for you being the victim and being more responsible for your actions, quit feeling sorry for self and just go and do the right things. You don't have to continue to to be anyones victim. It all starts with you remembering where you came from and resurrecting common sense then getting a good life that sets an example to all of us.May you find happiness in all of the right choices you make with common sense applied . Don G.

Common sense isn't dead, he's just pulling an insurance scam. He'll turn up in five years, much to the relief of all those who have missed him, only to get locked up by PC (politically correct) Plod. ;-)

I have always been told I have common sense.
I never fell for the jokes, like which side of the roof would a rosters egg roll down if he laid it on the top? Rosters don't lay eggs.
