Wash them with shampoo or facial soap rinse them and then use hair conditioner, rinse them well and then let them airdry...don't use the hair dryer...it will kill the softness on them.

I got a bottle of brush cleaner at Ulta made by Japonesque and it is amazing. You just spray a few spritzes on it and let it sit a minute and wipe it off. You would never believe the junk that comes out of those things! The bottle will last FOREVER since you only do a couple sprays at a time and its like $10. I've never used shampoos to clean mine, but it would seem like there would get buildup on it over time or get crusty, but maybe I'm wrong. I like the real brush cleaners cause I know they will do a good job and won't damage them, plus they are disinfecting.

you can buy cheap brush cleaner or you can put in a little bit of conditioner and shampoo in the sink, fill it with water, and let the brushes soak for about 10-15 minutes. after that, grab a bar of soap and brush each brush on the bar of soap until there is no more color coming out. Squeeze all the water out, put them in a cup and let them air dry. you can do this with sponges as well, but i recommend not using sponges at all (they soak up too much make up and you end up wasting it). Do this once a week :)

get a spray bottle put water and shampoo, just a little... shake the bottle and spritz it on your brushes and use a napkin to clean it off. store bought brush cleaners arent the greatest thing to use because most contain alcohol and thats no bueno for your skin!! hope this helps!!

Baby Shampoo in warm water. Works great. Then use a towel to press out the water. It's a gentle way to clean them.

Let them soak in hot soapy water for about 30 minutes and then rinse with cold water until all the soap is off and then let them air dry or you can buy the actual brush cleaner that is sold in department stores in the makeup section or in Target in the makeup section!
