I am looking into moving to the UK and I was wondering if people in the UK have heard of these schools. Which is more recognizable in England?

It would depend upon whom you asked. If you were a physician, people would have heard of Johns Hopkins. If you said you were at UPenn, no one would have heard of it, but if you said you had a degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, those in larger businesses would know of it. Brown sounds vaguely familiar just because it is a common name, but not even in the U.S. have most people heard of it. Of course, if you were to ask shopkeepers and taxi drivers, you would get blank stares, but that would be the case in the U.S. if you mentioned Oxford or Cambridge too.

Out of those, I'd say Brown is the most well-known outside of the U.S.
