Homer says "trying is the first step towards failure."
Sometimes I give up before even trying, but only when it's something I didn't really want to do in the first place.
Cleaning my apartment is a good example of this.

Yes, I admit that I do give up before trying. But only when I know that I'm so weak and uninterested that trying would be a waste of time. I have no artistic talent whatsoever, nor am I interested in it, so I don't even try.

I was tempted to yesterday, but I did not.
I have 3 strings of outdoor Christmas lights that I removed from storage. One string was 3/4 working, one was 2/3 working, and one was 1/3 working. I almost gave up, but I got the Tree Light "fixer" thingy and fixed all the strings myself.
Then I hung all 3 strings, plus my Christmas Wreath, outside. It was a beautiful warm 65 degree day. Praise the Lord.

No ...I often try too long! I am the worlds worst for trying to make things work when the writing is on the wall!
