ABC news plays during the commercial breaks here at the office. I bet it's been almost a month since I've heard a report on Iraq. Low and behold, there was just a hideous car-bombing today and that's all I hear during every commercial break.

That's just disgusting and it really is a shame the media refuses to report the positives.

Our troops are doing an amazing job and they should get a few accolades.

Welcome to the sensationalizing of journalism.

The media (who by the way is run mostly by democrats) only want the people to see the bad going on over there so we will raise up against the Republican party and the promise of an early return of our troops. BAD IDEA!

If we leave now there will be more attacks on American soil than there was during WWII. And there will be more terrorist attacks as well.

If the media showed all the schools we rebuilt, hospitals re-opened, and the other good things we are doing over there it would be a different scenario. But the media doesn't want us to see that.

For the same reason that they have focused only on the negative since the beginning. The media despises anything positive that doesn't jive with their liberal agenda. When any of them are reporting something negative they can barely control the glee in their voices and expressions. Remember Dan Rather's unfounded story about Bush and his military service? The man could barely get the words out with a straight face because he believed he had found the silver bullet. And, his "apology"? - well someone else screwed up!

Look at yahoo.com right now the home page. The top news story listed in car bombs in Iraq.

This is and has been the agenda of the American media for some time. That agenda is our failure in Iraq so the democrats can blame the Republicans.

You do not really watch the news..
Fox reports just this week of refugees returning and they have interviews of some of the returning..
ABC,, NBC,, MSNBC,, C- Span ??? must only show what they think will continue to down play reality...
BUT the INSANE islamist just can't get enough killing..
think one or two nuts can explode a bomb that kills dozens...
Remember it really is the muslim's problem of their religion condoning the violence..corruption...
But I am proud of our troops..
Do not forget the Teddy Bear...

Bad news, such as violence, has been shown to always attract more viewers (and listeners). More people equals more money, so it is in the financial interests of the large media companies to play up negative news over positive news.

Occasionally they throw in a heartwarming story, but it has to be pretty unique to be considered interesting enough to make national news.

The media fills in the down-time with reports about questionable NIE reports, the 'crime' of the CIA by not divulging their operational tactics and Harry Reid's whimpering of how water-boarding is too unkind.

They do, you need to watch regular news and stop watching banner headlines at the office - are you being paid to watch TV?
Or it is because there aren't enough car bombs in the US or bus bombs in Iraq. Take your choice.

Nobody reports on the planes that DON'T crash.

I agree that our military is doing a great job, and that they don't get nearly enough credit.

Some people would rather we lose the war than that Bush be seen as succeeding.

There's a saying in news: If it bleeds, it leads. Media groups focus on dramatic and horrific news because it's more attention grabbing than stories about toy giveaways and cross-cultural friendships.

Our troops are doing an amazing job, but there's no way for them to accomplish this "mission" no matter how good a job they do. It was never a feasible mission to start with and we only waste the lives of good men and women by staying there. We need to bring them home and let them do something less dangerous and more productive to their own lives.
