Pretty open question there, can you define "Surge" in a little more detail? Is your check engine light on?

Depending on what you mean by surge, it could actually be a transmission issue. Does it feel like it is downshifting and taking off (like when you floor it while already at speed)?

Is it more of a bucking where the engine seems to lose power for a minute the takes off again? Could be a fuel line isssue or an intake problem. Did you check the basics like your air filter? When was your last tune up?

Unfortunately without more of information it's pretty tough to diagnose.
