I think he'll help, not sure about a savior.
At least it will be nice to get somebody on base for the big bats to bring in.

I live in Columbia, MO where I am surrounded by Cardinals fans, and naturally I have to watch Cards games cuz they are all that is on... Al Hrabosky is one of the announcers... and he's an idiot... I can't wait to see what happens when the Cubs come to town... He'll royally butcher that name...

I think the Cubs are going to be a great team this year. Fukodome may be the missing link... I personally am a Reds fan... But since I hate the Cardinals.... I kinda like the Cubs a bit too...

I have no answer, only a big THANK YOU to the Chipmaker (above), who is the only answer i read that referenced Fukudome's name pronunciation...the first time i saw that name i thought it was a joke and wondered how to pronounce it....really, it sounds like the name of a covered stadium, in a city where the fans are rude and obnoxious....hmmm...wonder where that could be? Not chicago, the cubs' fans are nice...not seattle, they're nice there, too...could it be philly? oakland? maybe i'll post a new question, that would sure bring out the best (beast?) in baseball fans around the country!

He might..

He has been an OBP giant...something the Cubs need..they have mashers..only no one to get on in front of them...and he is a LHB, offsetting the righty power we have..

Could care less about his power..

Now, if the rumored Murton/Gallagher trade for Bip Roberts comes true...and we bat Roberts, then Fuky, then Lee, Ramirez, Soriano....now you have an offense....Ramirez and Alfie will drive in 130 apiece with all those guys on in front of them..

Like it a lot....even if hits .280 with 15 homers....as long as his OBP stays up..

Don't the Cubs have a new savior every year? Cubs suck and I hope they keep it that way. Harry Carey sucked too.

probably not be the savior but an interesting part to the equation because they still need a centerfielder and some more pitching, but when they get those parts they will be a great team in a weak league

Awwwww... a pug! Pugs rock.

His name is pronounced approximately "foo koo doh may" but, sigh, given the English transliteration, he's just asking for some of the harshest verbal abuse in history whenever he's on the road and pounds on the other team.

Very good player, great speed and power combination from what I hear but I would put him at Savior status yet, unless he can pitch some long relief as well!

Very good ball player but not a savior.

EDIT:
Dr J. How do you know Babe Ruth was a good player? you never saw him. We all draw our opinions from what experts say about him and the numbers he has put up. I am sure you have an opinion about Ty Cobb, how many times did you see him play?

Not the savior- but the missing piece of the puzzle.

Harry where are you with your bud slurred words. FUKUDOME may not be the savior but listening to the announcers with his name will bring WGN's ratings up.
